Flourish And Blossom Under His Shade

"My people will again live under my shade. They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines. They will be as fragrant as the wines of Lebanon."
Hosea 14:7

When we turn to God with all our heart, not relying on ourselves or any other backing but God (v.1-4), then we will be under the shadow of Christ and His Word, with our spirits revived, grow in every grace, bring forth fruits and enjoy rich fragrants of His favor.

Despise Evil. Be Blessed

"Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked."
Psalm 97:10

We have to absolutely hate evil and abstain from anything that even appears to be evil(1Thes.5:22), if we really love God. He will then preserve our soul, deliver us from the wicked and multiply our light and gladness(v.11).

To Be Happy Is Our Imperative Duty

"Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!"
Psalm 32:11

To rejoice and to be glad in the Lord is not only our prerogative but is also a moral obligation for us to obey. We have been pardoned of all our debt of sins and it is unjustifiable for us to murmur and walk around with sorrow before the Lord. Let us praise and thank Him with joy for all that He has done for us so that He will release all that He has in store for us.

Fully Qualified To Help Us

"Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."
Hebrews 2:18

Since Jesus Christ took the form of man and went through all suffering of temptation and was perfected through it all, He is powerfully inclined to help us by sending us the required dosage of grace and strength at the right time.

Ignorance Of God Is Disgrace

..“You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God."
Matthew 22:29

Our reasoning or logic will be completely wrong when we attempt to expose our views with imperfect knowledge of the Word of God and without proper insight of the attributes of God. It is a shame on us to be ignorant of God (1Cor.15:34).

Our Rescuer And Wonder-worker

"He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders In heaven and on earth.."
Daniel 6:27

Our Almighty God works signs and wonders for us who fear Him and call on Him in heaven and in earth out of the common course of nature which no law of the world can prevent. Nothing can ever devour or destroy us because our breath of life is in His hands and it is He who controls the whole course of our life (5:23).

The Universe Is Just His Logo

"How great are His signs, how powerful His wonders! His kingdom will last forever, His rule through all generations."
Daniel 4:3

The work of God is miraculous and overpowering, far beyond what we believe, see or feel. We can never measure Him through what He has done, because the whole universe is just a logo of His grandeur. His reign is sovereign and supreme, not liable to any occurence or to any interference.

Does Not Ignore Our Call

"Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea;"
Psalm 55:1

When we have God alone to direct all our prayers and supplications, we can assuredly expect sustenance and relief from Him. But when we are in intimate fellowship with the Father, and when our every work is in harmony with His will, we can know for sure that our prayers are always heard and answered (Jn.11:42).

No Hope If There's No Word Of God

"Consult God's instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn."
Isaiah 8:20

If we don't learn from the Word of God and ignore it, we will be haunted with doubts and fears, and will have no hope of the future because it is His Word that gives joy to the heart and is radiant, giving light of hope to the eyes of faith (Psa.19:8).

Yearn For God

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God."
Psalm 42:1

When there is an inward longing and true desire for God in our soul and flesh, then there will be outward manifestations of tears(v.3), songs of praise and prayer (v.8), with audible panting out of thirst and stupefying yearning for God.

The Bliss Of Fearing God

"The fear of the LORD leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble."
Proverbs 19:23

The fear of God is rewarded by true, long, happy and healthy life that brings honor and esteem. It adds divine rest, peace, providence and contentment to our lives. It assures us security from the viles and deceits of evil men and from any harm, pestilence and disaster.

Live At Profound Ease

"His soul will abide in prosperity, And his descendants will inherit the land."
Psalm 25:13

If we fear God, we will have nothing else to fear (v.12), but can live at profound ease, fully satiated as if there is no more problem in life and as if our stores are abounding, and our children will be blessed with outright bliss and exaltation.

Live At Profound Ease

Let us not be occasional visitors to God but live in intimacy with Him. Let us always abide under His wings so that no weapon formed against us can ever even reach us. We will not only be secure when in close communion with Him, but also enjoy His secret providence and grace.

Our Sure Defense

"O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle."
Psalm 140:7

We can boldly count on God for our security in scenes of danger. He defends us from poisonous defamations (v.3) and crafty plots (v.5). We should always be aware of the peril around us (v.1-5) and hold on to God, who is always our sure fortress. If we are unaware of the evil-doer we will easily fall prey to his nasty plans.

Forsake Vanity To Enjoy His Grace

"They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy."
Jonah 2:8

We need to totally let go off all vanities that we are holding on to at present, in order to enjoy the absolute grace of God. Let us not walk in the vanity of our own mind(Eph.4:17) but enjoy grace upon grace, relying on the fulness of Jesus Christ(John 1:16)

The Vanity of The Thoughts Of Men

"The LORD knows the thoughts of human beings— that they are futile."
Psalm 94:11

Haughty men think that God does not hear what they say or see what they do (v.7,9). But God is the searcher of our hearts and knows all our secret thoughts. Men may form wise schemes and plans but everything is vain and none can be executed without His permission. His counsel stands forever and His truth prevails.

Privileged To Be His Subjects

"..the kingdom is the LORD'S And He rules over the nations."
Psalm 22:28

There will soon be a time when every men on earth will turn to the Lord God, worship Him(v.27) and acknowledge Him as King over the whole earth (Zec.14:9). Privileged are we in whose hearts He reigns now, for we delight in it's constitution of righteousness, peace and joy (Rom.14:17).

Wisdom And Knowledge From The Sovereign God

"He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning."
Daniel 2:21

God who made time, has all power and choice to change it as and when it pleases Him. He has absolute control over all the rulers of the world. God gives man all the ability and capability to gain his knowledge, and all the aptitude and talent to adopt it rightly at the right time.

As children of God, we are absolutely His workmanship. He created us and is still at work, shaping and refining us. He is always ahead of us, with wonderful plans to be accomplished through us, and He has already prepared us and pre-arranged all our circumstances that we may easily get adapted to fulfill His purposes. Let us go forward with all heart to accept His divine appointment, to carry out the divine assignment with His divine wisdom and strength.

No Verbal Condemnation

"..I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute."
Luke 21:15

When we stand on God's side, we do not need to fear nor do we need to search for words to defend us, for God will equip us with good eloquence that no tongue raised against us will be able to injure or accuse us (Isa.54:17).

Brings Down Haughty Thoughts

"..they do not know the thoughts of the LORD; they do not understand his plan, that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor."
Micah 4:12

God will bring down the haughty thoughts of evil men (who very well know their own schemes and plans but not the thoughts of their Maker) to naught, not by force, but through their own waywardness, and equip us with power and potency to make us subdue and override (v.13) any hopeless situation.

What God has pre-destined in our lives, none can thwart. No other plot can supersede His purpose for us. He lives forever to accomplish His design not only in our lives but also in the lives of our children and their children.

Revealed Works, Hidden Plans

"How great are Your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep."
Psalm 92:5

Stupendous are the works of God that He has made known in our lives. Still more mind-blowing are His thoughts and plans for our future that are still hidden but will come to pass in His time. Let us praise and sing for joy for all that He has done for us and wait patiently anticipating for all that He has in store for us.

Apparent Yet Mystifying

"God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding."
Job 37:5

Great and marvelous are the deeds of the Almighty God (Rev.15:3) in the course of nature and in our lives. His majestic and powerful accomplishment for us at times will be more apparent, heard and seen by men around, but mystifying to us.
